Over the years I have tried just about every running jacket available. I've always run into the same issues, they are either waterproof, but not breathable, or the opposite, breathable, but not waterproof. As an ultra-runner, I'm always on the lookout for a jacket versatile enough to wear in a downpour at 10,000 feet, or just a light drizzle while on a short run from my front door.

I've finally found the perfect blend of both BREATHABLE and WATERPROOF. The RaidLight Extreme Jacket out of France has a stow away hood with visor, a clear window on the sleeve to view my watch, finger loops on the cuff, fully taped seams, only weighs 8 oz., and packs into its own pocket. Most importantly, using their MP technology it is TOTALLY WATERPROOF AND BREATHABLE.

During the Bear 100 in Utah this past month I let a client use it during the rain and snow that pummeled runners. At Mile 50 she changed clothes and I inspected the jacket... shazam! Completely dry on the inside. Trying it myself this past weekend in rain and more snow I experienced the same wonderful discovery. Imported by Austin Trail Running Company.
